Weather in Kalutara

Kalutara sees a lot of sunshine during the year and it is almost a year-round destination. But then there are those monsoon months that aren’t always as sunny, instead, there will be a little rain to deal with.

How to get here

Getting to Kalutara isn’t a difficult task. You can always take the bus from Colombo to Kalutara (a/c buses are also available). You could also opt for the scenic route and take the train; this offers a better experience.

Places to stay

There are so many hotels in Kalutara which offer good stays. Turyaa Kalutara Hotel, in particular, is a popular property. There are guest houses available too, but you might not find them beside the beach.

Things to do

Find some history at Fa Hien Caves, be mesmerized at Calido Beach and explore the grand landscaping at Brief Gardens. Marvel at the Kalutara Bodhiya and many other religious sites.
