Sri Lanka is blessed with many great National Parks including Yala and Minneriya, but the largest among them all is Wilpattu. It’s a National Park with a different vibe, and you should visit it at least once in your life.

Where is Wilpattu?

If you are driving from Colombo, heading to Wilpattu will mean a 4-hours’ drive. But, from Anuradhapura- the ancient capital city of Sri Lanka, Wilpattu is just an hour’s drive away.

When to visit Wilpattu?

They say the best months to visit Wilpattu is from February to October. You may choose any of the hotels in Wilpattu the likes of Leopard Safaris Wilpattu to spend your holiday leisurely.

The safari experience

Unlike Udawala or Yala, this National Park gets fewer visitors, quite surprisingly. Thus, there are only a few safari jeeps to serve you. The park opens its gates at 6.00 am and if you come as early as possible, you are sure to have a greater experience.
