Location

The desert is located only two hours away from Muscat where the best hotels in Oman are located, including options such as Al Fajaj Hotel. You can find some traditional Omani towns down the road too, where you can witness the rich local culture.

Activities

You can engage in a wide range of fun activities in the Wahiba Sands desert, including sunset drives, trekking, camel riding, and quad biking. The sunsets in the desert and glorious, and you will rarely encounter a more breathtaking view of the dunes and the blood-red sun. There is also a Deserts Night Camp where you can try sandboarding.

Villages and forts
