Hotels in the Area

Whether you are a history enthusiast or a holiday-maker who has a fascination for stories of old, make sure you stay in the heart of Doha. Resorts such as Souq Al Wakra Hotel Qatar by Tivoli are under half an hour from this museum and other notable attractions and is a central base for travellers.

Overview of the Museum

The great news is that the entrance to this museum is free! Each heritage house has a distinct theme and houses different artefacts. These collections showcase the opulence of the mega-wealthy along with the cultural gems of Qatar’s past. You can also either dine-in at the museum premises or check out the restaurants in Wakra after a full day of exploring.

Radwani House

This part of the museum was built a century ago, and it was privately owned by the family of Aki Akbar Radwan. However today, it is open to the public and is preserved as a museum that showcases the architecture, interior design and as such the wealth of old Qatar. Walk around and be amazed at the sheer opulence and grandeur inside its walls.

Company House

This section is dedicated to the unsung workers of the oil industry, which was a catalyst of development and prosperity in Qatar. One may catch a glimpse of the darker side of this industry as you learn about the hardship and struggle of the dedicated labourers, who contributed immeasurably to Qatar’s journey to greatness.
