World Heritage Sites

The island is home to eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites which can be easily visited when staying at a nearby hotel. Sigiriya Sri Lanka, the iconic rock fortress is not to be missed as is the Golden Temple of Dambulla both of which are within easy reach of local properties like The Paradise Resort & Spa. Other key sites include the ancient kingdom of Anuradhapura, the sacred city of Kandy and the old town of Galle with its fort.

Wildlife & Nature Sanctuaries

The local national parks are where you can enjoy thrilling wildlife safaris and witness everything from stealthy leopards to majestic elephants. The island is also blessed with idyllic nature reserves including the Sinharaja Forest Reserve and the Central Highlands which feature a range of endemic flora and fauna.

Culinary Discoveries

Foodies have much to look forward to as well since Sri Lankan cuisine is made up of a number of influences. Rice and spicy curries, as well as seafood dishes, are perennial favourites as are naan and dosa, biryani, lamprais and kottu roti, each with their own special flavours.
