Decided to take your first holiday to Australia? The good news is that an unforgettable trip awaits! Here are some tips and insights to help you get started on planning.

Six States

Australia has six states (and two territories) with unique experiences and adventures. Depending on your interests, you can choose which state/s to visit; research each and don’t forget there’s more to enjoy away from the cities too. The six states and capitals are:

South Australia (Adelaide)
New South Wales (Sydney)
Victoria (Melbourne)
Queensland (Brisbane)
Western Australia (Perth)
Tasmania (Hobart)

Accommodation

Accommodation isn’t hard to find and there are various apartment and hotel deals in Australia worth checking out. Consider properties from brands such as Oaks Hotels, Resorts & Suites which are not only conveniently located, but follow strict health guidelines and offer “book now and pay later” as well as free cancellation options.

When to Go

Unlike in the Northern Hemisphere, the summer season here is at the end of the year from December to February, ideal for beach visits. Winter is from June to August when crowds are generally less and rates too; autumn (March to May) and spring (September to November) are also great times to visit.

Get a SIM card

Consider getting a cheap SIM card in Australia in case you don’t have a mobile roaming package or the one you have is quite costly. Having internet and phone use on your travels be it for accessing maps or for emergencies is always helpful. Also, check if your accommodation offers free Wi-Fi which is a definite plus!
