Katara Beach

Those based at Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels By Tivoli or any of the best hotels in Doha must venture down to Katara Beach. Ranked among the most pristine seaside hamlets in Qatar, this 1.5km long beach is ideal not only for walks and watching the sunset but also for swimming and water sports activities.

The Amphitheatre

When a grand event or concert takes center stage at the Katara Cultural Village, it usually takes place at this massive performance hub. Resembling an ancient Greek theatre in design, the architecture of the amphitheatre also includes motifs from Islamic buildings. With the capacity to host 5000 spectators, the venue was declared open to the public in 2011.

Visit the Mosques

There are two larger-than-life mosques at the Katara Cultural Village that every tourist must explore. The Masjid of Katara was designed by none other than Zainab Fadil Oglu and features a purple and turquoise mosaic exterior. Tourists can enter the mosque when prayers are not taking place as long as they are dressed respectfully. The Golden Masjid, in contrast, is the place to go for religious lectures and various other programmes hosted by Islamic scholars.

Katara’s Gardens and the Katara Hills Promenade

Home to countless seasonal flowers and plant varieties, Katara’s Gardens is perhaps best known for its evergreens. Spread out over a whopping 32,700 square meters, the venue also includes the Katara Hills Promenade, which is ideal for long walks and jogging.
