The capital of Qatar, Doha offers plenty to experience and these are key places of interest that you should have on your itinerary.

Beaches of Doha

There are several noteworthy coastal areas here. Katara Beach makes a great choice and has water sports and a play area for kids; also well-known are the Al Wakrah and Simaisma Family beaches. Of course, for more secluded beachside bliss you can stay at properties like Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara on a private island!

Doha Corniche

Popular with families, the Corniche is a charming waterfront promenade that overlooks the bay. Those staying at Doha suites within easy reach of this site should make it a point to visit and enjoy a stroll especially in the evenings; an ideal spot for recreation too, it’s home to lovely parks, play areas, cafes and the National Museum of Qatar.

Museum of Islamic Art

Located opposite the Doha Corniche, on an artificial island, is the striking Museum of Islamic Art. Designed by renowned architect, I.M. Pei, this museum with its equally impressive interiors is home to one of the largest Islamic art collections on the planet! Apart from art, the diverse exhibits include woodwork, jewellery, ceramics, textiles, metalwork and more.

Souq Waqif

Last but not least is the Souq Waqif, amongst the most famous attractions in Doha. This historical and vast marketplace dates to more than a century and is an amazing place to explore, shop and dine; on your adventures, you will come across handicrafts, Bedouin weaving, spices, carpets, gold, pashminas, shisha and even falcons!
