Found on the southwestern corner of Malaysia, Desaru is a golden tract of coastline; the name Desaru has the meaning ‘village of palms’. This unspoiled stretch of coastline has always been a local favourite, although tourists don’t really frequent the place due to the lack of infrastructure, it’s beginning to change now.

An upscale part of Malaysia for tourists

The coastline is becoming a swanky tourist spot with luxury resorts in Malaysia taking their place in the neighbourhood. Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas, for example, is one accommodation provider that furnishes the coastline with accommodation options.

Getting here

It’s only an hour and a half from Singapore, and from the Johor airport, it doesn’t take any more than an hour to get here. Although Desaru is quite close in proximity to other major cities and towns in Malaysia, the town is pretty isolated, which is part of its allure.

Beach fun

Desaru Coast is ideal for relaxing and sunbathing; you can spend hours here in the tropical sun reading books and sipping a delicious drink.

Adventure Park

If you are here with your kids, you must visit Adventure Park. Located in the midst of all the activity, the park features one of the biggest wave pools in the country.
