While there are plenty of beaches in Maldives to enjoy, one that’s worth visiting on your getaway is Rasdhoo Beach; here’s more on what you need to know.

Getting There

This idyllic shoreline is on the inhabited island of Rasdhoo in the Alif Alif Atoll also known as the North Ari Atoll. To enjoy the best of this destination and luxurious comforts for romance or family fun, look to stay at a private island resort that’s within easy reach; options include Kuramathi Maldives which also has a sublime beach as well as cultural trips to Rasdhoo.

A Bikini Beach

For those visiting from a nearby resort, Maldives excursions to Rasdhoo give you a chance to head to its beach which is classified as a “Bikini Beach”. Only a few public beaches on inhabited islands have been classified as such and are where bikinis can be worn by tourists. Of course, there are no such restrictions on beaches at private resorts.

The Rasdhoo Beach stretches for around 100 metres with pristine sands and palm trees providing a picture-postcard-like backdrop. Apart from soaking up the sun, you can take a refreshing dip too. On your visit, you can also look to enjoy snorkelling or diving to encounter diverse marine species be it batfish, reef sharks, manta rays or turtles.

Other Things to Do

You can also explore the island to gain insights into the local culture and when hunger strikes, head to one of the several cafes or restaurants serving local and international fare; there are some gift shops here as well ideal for souvenir shopping. For something different, you could even take a dolphin safari to spot these playful marine mammals
