From stunning architectural marvels to historical sites, the emirate of Dubai offers much to experience. If it’s your first time planning a visit, here’s a quick guide to help you get started.

Accommodation

Before deciding what to see find a centrally located place to stay. Hotels in Deira, Dubai are amongst the accommodation options to consider since they offer easy access to the international airport, metro stations and attractions. Properties that additionally offer free Wi-Fi and shuttles to retail hubs make an ideal choice.

Sightseeing Galore

One can easily plan a sightseeing tour while based at properties such as Avani Deira Dubai Hotel; key attractions include the historical Al Fahidi district, Burj Khalifa, Jumeirah Mosque and Palm Jumeirah. Ski Dubai, LEGOLAND Dubai, IMG Worlds of Adventure and Wild Wadi Waterpark are amongst the family favourites.

Fabulous Shopping

No visit would be complete without some shopping! The Dubai Mall, the largest mall on the planet, offers plenty of shopping, fashion, dining and entertainment as do Ibn Battuta Mall and the Mall of the Emirates. Also, remember to visit the Gold and Spice souks which offer more traditional market settings.

Other Things to Do

There are plenty more things to do in Dubai; you can take a cruise on a traditional dhow along the Dubai Creek or if it’s fun by the sea you desire, visit the La Mer, Sunset or Jumeirah beaches. Not to be missed is a desert safari where you can enjoy some dune bashing and visit a Bedouin-style camp for dinner.
