Holy Cross National Shrine

Located just 9 minutes from Amagi Beach, one of the Marawila hotels, Holy Cross National Shrine is an important religious site in Sri Lanka; it’s one of the most visited attractions in Marawila. The church was built by a French priest, who’s buried at the site.

Sigiriya

To witness the brilliance of Sri Lanka’s ancient architecture and for stunning views, visit Sigiriya. Shaped like a lion, hence called the Lion’s Rock, Sigiriya is an old fortress now reduced to ruins. Historians believe that the fortress was built in the 4th and 5th centuries.

Galle Dutch Fort

For more historical intrigue, visit Galle Dutch Forth. Another token from the country’s colonial era, Galle Dutch Fort was originally a Portuguese structure. Later, the Dutch adorned it with their own architectural expertise. You’ll find numerous shops and restaurants inside the fort.
