Make your way to one of the popular landmarks in Phang Nga Bay, which made its mark on the international tourist map after the James Bond movie named ‘The Man with the Golden Gun’.
Famously known as the James Bond island, the real name of this island is Koh Tapu. Lying on the Phang Nga Bay, this landmark lies next to the well-known Koh Ping Ghan. Phang Nga Bay covers an area of 400 sq kilometres and is home to almost 100 islands. Ever since the island featured in a 1974 Bond movie, it has become a major attraction.
This destination is under national park protection, so no boats are allowed to go too close to the island due to its precarious position; big on the upper part and smaller at the bottom.
Much more to do
As you get to this famous landmark from your Phuket resort, the likes of Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas, you will find out that this destination is also known for sailing and kayaking. If you’re looking for some more fun, you can rent a longtail boat from Surakul Pier in Phang Nga for a good three to four hours.
