Overview

Famously known as the James Bond island, the real name of this island is Koh Tapu. Lying on the Phang Nga Bay, this landmark lies next to the well-known Koh Ping Ghan. Phang Nga Bay covers an area of 400 sq kilometres and is home to almost 100 islands. Ever since the island featured in a 1974 Bond movie, it has become a major attraction.

Protection

This destination is under national park protection, so no boats are allowed to go too close to the island due to its precarious position; big on the upper part and smaller at the bottom.
