The Beach Road

The Tomb of Job
Take a scenic drive up the hills above Salalah, passing some of the region’s most striking landscapes along the way. At the top sits the tomb believed to be the resting place of Job, a site that holds deep cultural and historical importance.
Al Baleed Archaeological Park
This UNESCO Al-Baleed Archaeological Park preserves the remains of the ancient trading port of Zafar, which dates back to around the 12th century. The site once welcomed travellers and merchants from across the region, including the famous explorer Marco Polo during his journey in 1285. Today, visitors can wander through the impressive ruins and stop by the nearby museum.
Sultan Qaboos’ Palace
Located just outside Salalah, Al Husn Palace is one of the region’s most notable royal landmarks. The palace was originally built in the 19th century by Turki bin Said al‑Said and later became a residence for several Omani rulers, including Qaboos bin Said. Overlooking the coastline, the elegant complex sits behind high stone walls.
