A cable car carries visitors on a 2.1 kilometre journey from the foot of Gunung Mat Cincang to its peak in 35 gondolas that carry six people at a time. The ascent begins at Oriental Village at the foothill of Gunung Mat Cingcang where it climbs 680 metres to the mountain’s summit. Visitors disembark at one of two stations atop the mountain where viewing platforms offer breathtaking views of the Andaman Sea, nearby Langkawi islands, and on a clear day, the Koh Tarutao Islands of Thailand. The iconic Langkawi Sky Bridge, a 125 meter-long curved suspension bridge, connects Gunung Mat Cincang to a nearby mountain allowing visitors to admire panoramic views of the surrounding islands and the Datai Bay. For adventure-seekers, a hiking trail leads visitors on a two hour journey to the summit of Gunung Mat Cincang through lush rainforests that is home to abundant wildlife and past the famous Seven Wells Waterfall which flows from an altitude of 480 meters through seven pools that is ideal for a swim.
