Suncorp Stadium – a true ‘Aussie’ spectacle

Suncorp Stadium which has grown into one of the most popular Australian sports stadiums over the years can be easily found when one ventures to the area known as Milton in the State of Queensland. Initially known as Lang Park, the stadium officially opened in the year 1914 and now serves as the premier sporting destination in all of Queensland. Having been at the centre of many thrilling encounters and musical extravaganzas, Suncorp Stadium is a must visit attraction, particularly during game time as this is when the locals flock to the grounds expecting a resounding win for the home team. Also found near the stadium is Next Hotel Brisbane which is one of the finest of hotels Brisbane CBD has come to know of.

The game of rugby reserves a special place at Suncorp Stadium. This is because the stadium continues to host Rugby Union test matches featuring the Qantas Wallabies and further all home games of the Super 15 side, the Queensland Reds. Rugby league and international & domestic football matches are also held amidst large gatherings of die-hard sports fans. Musical concerts featuring some of the leading names in the industry have also graced the state at Suncorp Stadium. These include Robbie Williams, Taylor Swift, Coldplay and Eminem. Among the events to lookout for in the immediate future, Suncorp Stadium is all set to welcome the all conquering New Zealand All Blacks for the 3rd Bledisloe Test against the Wallabies on the 18th of October 2014. Suncorp Stadium is undoubtedly a true depiction of the sporting tradition that Australia is so famous for.
