Established in the year 2004, the Abu Dhabi Festival is a yearly festival presented by the country’s Music and Arts foundation. The largest classical arts culmination in the UAE, the festival is held under the patronage of His Highness, Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan,

Aimed at improving Abu Dhabi’s position in becoming a destination of cultural significance the world over, the festival sees the emergence of many new artists and amazing creativity. It is also integral in promoting the city’s profile as an international metropolis for Aimee_Mullens+_ADFFarts, and promoting the association of art among its citizens. The event promotes cross cultural understanding across the Middle Eastern region.

It is also a great opportunity for emerging talent to be showcased to a wide audience and to gain international recognition. 2013 will mark its 10th anniversary and the event will recognize Spain as the country of honour this year. Seeking to integrate arts and music across different communities in the seven emirates, the Abu Dhabi festival tries each year to inspire those who wish to experience and learn cultural diversity while also advocating community based activities, which in turn promotes different forms of expression.

The Story Mile will be a unique addition to this year’s festival, which will comprise of 100 students taking part in a workshop that will share family stories during the event period which is to be held from 10th to the 29th of March.
