From the lush greenness of rice fields to the white sands of secluded beaches, Thailand is a paradise unlike any other. Famous for its active club scene and divine shopping malls, the country is one of the most popular destinations in Asia. With a plethora of things to do and numerous sights to see, Thailand is sure to offer a vacation to remember. Navigate the maze that is Bangkok, with its cacophony of noise and flashy neon signs. Get lost in the energy of Chiang Mai, the country’s bohemian centre of art and culture or bask in the warmth of the sun shining down on the pristine beaches of Koh Kradan. The choices are endless.

Named for its oblong shape, Koh Kradan is one of many islands lying off the coast of Trang. As is the case with many of the other islands that surround it, most of Koh Kradan falls under the domain of Hat Chao Mai National Park. The remaining land is owned privately and is utilised for the cultivation of coconut and rubber. The island is home to some of the best beaches in Thailand. The pristine beaches of Koh Kradan are covered in powdery white sand, and the waters surrounding it are astoundingly clear.

The island is a mere forty minute boat ride from the mainland. The best time to visit is between November and April (the island experiences the monsoon season between May and October). The two main beaches are the Yang Long Beach and the Paradise Beach. There is an extensive network of coral reefs surrounding Koh Kradan and they host a dazzling variety of aquatic fauna, including leopard sharks and moray eels. There are a few excellent diving spots around here. Two of the more popular ones are the sites of the sunken Japanese warships from World War II.

Tourists looking for a Trang hotel close to the island can try the Anantara  Saiko, Thailand. Offering a variety of services including spa and water sports facilities, it is one of the best Krabi luxury resorts. It offers a convenient location from which to explore the full splendour of the Hat Chao Mai National Park.
