The spacious opera house was built under the patronage of Sultan Qaboos and consists of an auditorium, concert theatre, formal gardens that are beautifully landscaped, a cultural market with high-end restaurants as well as an art centre to accommodate any type of opera productions. Also, this opera house was initially known as ‘House of Musical Arts’.

The Royal Opera House has been the venue for some world-famous musicals and operas reflecting Oman’s arts and culture. It has also been graced by international musical ensembles such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the renowned American Ballet Theatre.
